First Look: New WFB Empire

Hello again, this time in First Look lets have a look at the new WFB Empire models(if you haven't already):

New Empire cover with drunkard on it. WTF?

I'm really, really disappointed here, this guy look like he is gonna fall on his back any second now. After previous awesome covers like O&G and Vampire Counts(the best one so far) we get this. Shame on you GW(i hope new paint will be as awesome as they seem). Next:

I like the new, Griffon, this one is looks serious!

The best of the three Griffons. Huge, proud an awesome!

MUTATION!!
I like the new Griffon, it is proud, muscular and screams: I'm a wild beast! Come at me bro!. I don't like that he is using front of the Steam Tank as a breastplate. And why there is a mutated two-headed Griffon in the Empire army? Next!

Heroes are nice, move along...
Nothing to see here, move along please.
Heroes of the Empire are just that. Generic human heroes. I can't say i like them but I also can't say otherwise. Next!

Knightly Order of The KFC ready to charge!!

Minis are nice, but I can take better photo!
Demigryph Knights seems like a good model, but they're a victim of recent GW "don't-take-a-good-picture-of-your-product" policy(like Necro/Warsphinx and Stormraven) I'm sure that they will look 100 times better in person than they look on those horrible photos. Next!

Looks kinda like an old Altar, but I like the old one better.

The same carriage as the Altar but with some kind of Heavenly Spheres contraption.

Same as above but WITH LASERS!!
Now, I like the Altar(but still think that the old one was the best), but I don't know what to think about those crazy Mage-mobiles, models looks kinda silly but I hope that they are victims of the bad-photo policy i mentioned earlier. With a few tweaks they should be cool looking models(even LASER-CANNON one). And of course, I wander what those crazy, crazy contrapions do on the battlefield. I'm afraid, we run out of photos. Please tell me what you think of those models.

Cheers,

From the Couch: Infinity The Game

I love this cover.
Hello, again everyone! Lastly i managed to get few Infinity games and I want to share my thoughts on this awesome game. First of all, I must admit that it was very different experience form what I'm used to from GW games.
Sorry, my camera broke so generic photos only:(
The most important thing is movement, how are you going to spend your orders is pretty much deciding factor. Moving too many miniatures can result in you being vulnerable for your opponent to kill your minis. Having an opportunity to go deep into enemy territory with fast and hard-hitting model is something that you must do(at least my very limited experience says so). Stopping mid-field and waiting for your opponent to act is a foolish idea at best(which I learned the hard way). I've got the feeling that being too careful is soon going to bite you in the butt.
Next thing are the special skills, they are invaluable for you(especially those that affect movement like Climbing Plus or Super Jump). Those are a real deal and I would try to include as many minis with special abilities as I can. Terrain is almost as important after those few games I think that there is no such a thing as too few terrain on the Infinity table. So these are my initial thoughts on the subject. I'll certainly return to it when i get some more experience so watch out.

In other news here are the pictures of April releases:

Cheers,

Gamer.

For me, this looks promising, changing to the shade/base/layer format seems like a good idea. I only hope that they won't reduce amount of paint i the pot and/or rise price per pot. Getting rid of the crappy flip-top pots would be nice. Since I used Vallejo paints I love bottles instead of pots, also I hope that GW will finally make better bronze/brass/gold metallics(well I have't found any good metallics in this colours, anyone?).

This I hope to master and crush my enemies with. It's a wild guess on what I would need on the battlefield(I hope that my choicesw are correct, if not I'll have to adjust). If everything goes ok, next month this list will be ready and I'll start the field tests. Until know, since I don't have everything I need I'll try to catch few games to learn the rules and to learn how to wield my JSA properly. That's it for now, I leave you with the pictures promised on the beginning of the post. If any of you have any thoughts on this, please, don't hesitate to comment.

Painting white is hard. This is my first try.
Hopefully second Aragoto will turn out better than this one.
Cheers
